The Call to Women to Heal - Visionary Art by Jeanne Fry

Women are being called, called to Rise and Step back in, in order to bring Healing to the world. For far too long women have been oppressed and treated “less than”, unequally and unfairly, placed inside a box of restrictions with a “dumbing down” of their capabilities. While the world has been controlled by greed and power, women have been inundated with the distraction that we are weak and broken emotional creatures. We have been filled on a daily basis, being taught that we are not good enough, and that we need to look a certain way in order to be acceptable “prizes”. Along the way many of us have forgotten who we are as strong empowered beings capable of creating life and healing our surroundings.

Our world is going through a period of intense vulnerability. Since the crumbling of the economy a few years ago, that shook people to their very core, humanity has been operating in fear mode. With the loss of money, homes and jobs, people have been living with a lessened sense of security. It is as if we are in a state of grieving, consciously and unconsciously. This has heightened the “dog eat dog” mentality. Coupled with the even larger division of societal classes, the world is rampant with anger and sadness. We are forgetting how to talk to one another, how to have compassion for one another, and the value of human connectedness.

At the same time our Mother Earth is grieving, while we ravage her resources and force her to try and adapt. Those of us that are empathic can almost feel her sobs, and hope that there are enough of us that hold her in a high enough regard to help her heal. We have to strive to treat her better than we are treating one another, if we care about our children’s potential lives.
Women are being called to step in and bring Healing and Awareness- to remind people of the things that are truly supposed to matter at the end of the day - to help heal our fellow brothers and sisters, and to bring back a balance in humanity. We have been being tested, and sometimes harshly, in order to force us to see what is happening. Having to live it provides us with answers, if we are listening.
I painted “She Heals” as a reminder of what was, what is, and what could be.

“She Heals” is an original painting done in an art nouveau style, on an 11 inch x 14 inch canvas. Using acrylics, the colors chosen were meant to bring a warm and healing feel. It has a balance of earthy yet feminine qualities, bringing together beige, terracotta, and forest green, accents with shades of purple, mauve, blues, and turquoise. The Goddess, Gaia, stands in the middle of the Circle of Life, resembling a mandala. She holds in her palm a lotus flower of healing. Blooming flowers and vibrant vines surround her, amidst the serene mountain backdrop.
The painting is signed on the front, signed and titled on the back, and sealed with a satin finish to protect and enhance the painting. The sides of the canvas were painted to give it a clean contemporary appeal.  Gallery wire is installed on the back for ease is wall hanging.

Dona Nobis Pacem - Grant Us Peace

My entire adult life has been spent seeking, sharing, and Being Peace. I strive to surround myself with people who live their lives in a peaceful way, and try to inspire those who struggle to obtain it.  When I was young, I was blessed to grow up in an area of Upstate NY that was rich in cultural diversity. "Normal" to me was being immersed in that melting pot that was defined by so very many cultures and religions. My memories are filled with weekend events - celebrations, dinners, and dances held at different cultural community centers and churches. Everyone was welcome, and everyone would partake. This place had been a destination for many immigrants years back due to the opportunities for work. I remember my grandparents telling me about the old shoe and cigar factories, which were popular places for jobs. As the area grew, more and more industry came. Families were proud and grateful to have life long jobs that allowed them to take care of their families. There

The Queen Bee's Honeycomb - The Nourishment of Life

The "Crowning" of the new Queen Bee was widely celebrated and holds special significance not only within her Hive, but throughout our worldly existence. Her post insures new life , the continuation of their colony , communities working together , and true concept of how each life affects another .  Her existence represents fully and in depth, the Sweetness of Life .  (I must chuckle when thinking - "No pressure, dear little one" ) The Queen Bee's Honeycomb - The Nourishment of Life- Contemporary Folk Painting by Jeanne Fry Clover holds special significance to the Bee as one of their main nectar sources, and we could all take a little care with clover whose symbolism represents living a life of comfort, ease, and prosperity.  Their magnificent Honeycomb is one to be marveled, so much work by colony, one by one each little hexagon created to build the structure. That six-sided wonder itself is representative of balance, union, nurturing, and harmony

The Morning Glory Goddess and the Thoughtful Creation of Bringing Dreams to Fruition

The Morning Glory Goddess is a meaningful symbolic reminder for those who are working on bringing their Dreams to Fruition, or who are re-creating how they live their lives.
