Spring Equinox, Full Super Moon, and a Goddess Wand

The Spring Equinox is approaching (Wednesday March 20th), and will be coupled with March's Full Super Moon that same evening. Mercury will also be going direct the following week. For those who are in sync with the moon and these energies, some of the shifts can already be felt. The spiritual meaning of the events promises to be not only a beautiful healing time, but also a very productive time.
This particular Full Moon speaks to letting go of things that no longer serve us, while the Spring Equinox speaks to Renewal, Rebirth, and New Beginnings. Beautifully, it's much like the gardener weeding and tilling his garden space before planting the new season's seeds. I decided that I wanted to create a prayer altar that would reflect that symbolism so that I could set intentions and gratitude  on that day.
Crone Goddess Wand Altar Tool I contemplated for a few days on the things in my life that no longer served me, the areas that seemed stuck, and the things that weren't growing. I thought about things that I wanted, things that would resonate with me at this point in my life While some of the things were crystal clear, others were a bit fuzzy in regards to the pathway of succeeding.
Now I knew the direction for my Spring Equinox ceremony. I gathered together all of the things that I would use and set them aside, the gemstones and sage and candles and symbols, yet there was one other thing that I wanted. I needed to have a representation of the "weeding the garden & planting the seeds", along with seeking guidance on the paths forward. I wanted Goddess influence here. I decided to create a Goddess Wand that could be a visual aid in Meditation, a focal point as I released my questions.

I hadn't crafted any Goddess Wands in quite some time and was excited to do this one. It would be a reflection of the beautiful Crone since she helps with Clarity, and is masterful in the art of Letting Go. I would incorporate some subtle colors of Spring to represent Renewal and Beginnings, and add Dragonfly Wings that would be symbolic for Maneuvering and Transformation.

When I create spiritual tools for myself, I always create another that is similar in theme and symbolism because I so often find women around me who resonate in regards to their own healing. So, there is a "Clarity" Crone Goddess Wand in my Indiemade shop. Crone Goddess Wand

Dona Nobis Pacem - Grant Us Peace

My entire adult life has been spent seeking, sharing, and Being Peace. I strive to surround myself with people who live their lives in a peaceful way, and try to inspire those who struggle to obtain it.  When I was young, I was blessed to grow up in an area of Upstate NY that was rich in cultural diversity. "Normal" to me was being immersed in that melting pot that was defined by so very many cultures and religions. My memories are filled with weekend events - celebrations, dinners, and dances held at different cultural community centers and churches. Everyone was welcome, and everyone would partake. This place had been a destination for many immigrants years back due to the opportunities for work. I remember my grandparents telling me about the old shoe and cigar factories, which were popular places for jobs. As the area grew, more and more industry came. Families were proud and grateful to have life long jobs that allowed them to take care of their families. There ...

Medeina Goddess of the Forest - Number 6 of the 30 Goddesses in 30 Days Series

I have been enchanted with the growing process of the "30 Goddesses in 30 Days" challenge that I have given myself. In a very short period of time the creation of a Goddess painting a day has become a blended part of my day as much as having my tea and eggs for breakfast. Part of the passion is the subject matter of the Goddesses. The other part of the passion is the growth I'm receiving working with the Peerless Transparent Watercolors and the styles involved. Today I finished Number 6 in the series, being "Medeina". Medeina is a Lithuanian Goddess of the Forests. She watches over the trees and the animals who lived in those magical woodlands. Some Forest Goddesses assist hunters, although Medeina's focus is not for helping the hunters but is for protecting the forest and its animal kingdom.  My depiction of her brings her out in a natural world sense, wearing a mask of leaves so she can walk amongst and be a part of that which she watches over...

Mermaid and Patina Moon

Mermaid and Patina Moon In the past she would swim to the surface to sit along the water's edge and watch the humans. She used to find them quite magical. Most mermaids thought so. But over time she lost her intrigue. She began seeing their shadow sides, and how their fears evolved into hate. She couldn't stand to watch them being so mean to one another anymore and decided to remain in the safe and loving waters of the cove.  As the years passed she began to change. Merfolk don't age like humans, with wrinkles and such. Merfolk begin to patina when they age, a colorful sheen cloaks them, most especially their tail. As she began to patina, she became hidden in the waters even more. She blended into her surroundings with precision. This made the Moon ever so sad because he loved Fin the most.  It seemed that every night it would take longer and longer to find her. Finally one cold night in November he called to Fin and presented her with a gift wrapped in stars. I...
