Inspiration behind Spiritual Artwork

Often collectors will ask me where I get my ideas and inspirations for my Artwork.I have a strong spiritual connection between my heart and art.  I am blessed to have a very fluid flow of creative inspiration, and most of the time the ideas for pieces come quite naturally. Colors or themes will pop into my mind throughout the day and night, and I keep several journals where I can jot them down or sketch out an image. Other times they come to me when I am doing personal healing work - when I am journaling or meditating. And at times they come in a very focused way during those moments when I do Automatic Writing. I will quickly grab one of my notebooks and begin writing, and while those messages come fast, the handwriting is fast and often messy. I have to be sure to read it back to myself several times to be sure that I can retain it because the handwriting WILL not be neat.

This week I decided that I would share a bit of that process and the creations that came forth. Here is an Automatic Writing that I had done a few days ago. It came as messages and not simply images or phrases like at some other times.

Automatic Writing

It reads "Within the colder darker days of winter we look and reach for the Light. Look to the Light Carriers as you lift the veils on circumstances. Call the Light Carriers to assist your view.
You have been viewing some hidden agendas of others who had cast illusions because of their own fears. This may sadden you but hold on to the Light, for they are fueled by fears and their own darkness, not your own.
While you have talked and spoken your Truth - they have not LISTENED - instead they have clouded your truth with their defensiveness.
Listening is a Gift - it is paramount in communication. The quest is to be Heard. You have already learned how to speak your truth, but know now that in doing so, you must accept that they will not always Hear you - by choice. Embrace the Light Carriers, who will lift the veil. "

My first immediate image and symbolism that came was from the Dragonfly - who embodies the Light - who can bend the Light to the needs - and who helps to shine Illusions. I created two pieces that focused on the Dragonfly totem.

I later began working on some smaller pieces with images related to the Throat Chakra and its colors for Balance - reflective of Communication - in Speaking and Listening. When I finish these I will come back and share those as well.

Dona Nobis Pacem - Grant Us Peace

My entire adult life has been spent seeking, sharing, and Being Peace. I strive to surround myself with people who live their lives in a peaceful way, and try to inspire those who struggle to obtain it.  When I was young, I was blessed to grow up in an area of Upstate NY that was rich in cultural diversity. "Normal" to me was being immersed in that melting pot that was defined by so very many cultures and religions. My memories are filled with weekend events - celebrations, dinners, and dances held at different cultural community centers and churches. Everyone was welcome, and everyone would partake. This place had been a destination for many immigrants years back due to the opportunities for work. I remember my grandparents telling me about the old shoe and cigar factories, which were popular places for jobs. As the area grew, more and more industry came. Families were proud and grateful to have life long jobs that allowed them to take care of their families. There

The "Crowning" of the new Queen Bee was widely celebrated and holds special significance not only within her Hive, but throughout our worldly existence. Her post insures new life , the continuation of their colony , communities working together , and true concept of how each life affects another .  Her existence represents fully and in depth, the Sweetness of Life .  (I must chuckle when thinking - "No pressure, dear little one" ) The Queen Bee's Honeycomb - The Nourishment of Life- Contemporary Folk Painting by Jeanne Fry Clover holds special significance to the Bee as one of their main nectar sources, and we could all take a little care with clover whose symbolism represents living a life of comfort, ease, and prosperity.  Their magnificent Honeycomb is one to be marveled, so much work by colony, one by one each little hexagon created to build the structure. That six-sided wonder itself is representative of balance, union, nurturing, and harmony
