Minerva the Goddess of the Arts and Creative Passion

Minerva is the Roman Goddess of Wisdom, the Arts, and Trade; making her a wonderful Goddess to look to for guidance by virtually any creative person who desires to make a living from their talents.  Her wild and fiery hair is symbolic of that Creative Passion  that fuels your drive to create, that keeps you up at night honing your craft, and the perpetual thoughts of how you can continue elevating your talent. Her wisdom lends perfectly to the heightened creative by  fostering a diligent work ethic and responsible choices on turning the creative dream into a career.  While many people don't realize the tremendous work that is involved in being a full time artist, Minerva can be your  Daily Inspiration that "You Can Do This". Minerva is #15 in my series "30 Goddess in 30 Days".  She is available in my Etsy shop here Goddess Minerva Watercolor Painting on Etsy

Earthy Meets Elegant - Gourd Art Bowl with Turquoise Glass Bead Border

I am always striving to elevate my artwork, whether it be by theme, style, modality, or by product usage. Having worked with Gourds for many years, this past week I wanted to create a Gourd Art Bowl that blended a truly Earthy yet Elegant feel to it. While some of my gourd work, especially the gourd sculptures are intricate and detailed, I wanted this piece to bring a simple yet dynamic statement. While I have used Golden products for a long time in my paintings, I have never truly used them with my Gourd work. For this piece, I created a beautiful yet simple gourd bowl that was accented with one of Golden's products, the Glass Bead Gel.  This was placed over a Turquoise Border, which completely elevated the piece, enhancing the bowl with an shimmery elegant embellishment. It brought a textured glass feel to the border of the bowl, creating a wonderful conversational piece of Home Decor. I could envision it being used to store keepsakes of gemstones inside.  I...

Spirit of the Ocean Goddess - Gourd Art Vessel

This week has been filled with a lot of Gourd Art work. After our recent trip to the Gourd Farm and coming home with a nice sized bounty of these Earth beauties, this week has been all about the Gourd...gourd art bowls, sculptures, ceremonial rattles. I'm starting to FEEL like a gourd. This time I wanted some slightly different shaped ones in order to create Vessels...taller than a gourd art bowl and with a smaller opening in the top. Each gourd creation will "speak" to me, and I will know what direction I want to take its design. Most of our gourd bowls have an earthy and tribal design, but this particular gourd was different. Partly because of its shape, slightly angled. We cut and shaped it with an oblong and curved opening, which gave the entire Vessel a free form which immediately made me think of a water element - flowing - movement. I wanted to bring an Ocean theme to the gourd along with a feminine aspect, and began with several shades of purple leather...

Are you an Earth Angel? Certified Earth Angel Realm Readings by Jeanne Fry

Are you an Earth Angel?  Earth Angels are here to Lift people up, to move them out of a space of Fear and into a space of Love. I can't think of anything more needed in our world today. They are ambitious in helping our world be a better place, it is their Mission and their Passion. Many people talk about encountering an Earth Angel....sometimes that person who stops and helps you when you are on the side of the road...or the person who secretly pays for your dinner at a restaurant...or the person who diligently spends every day fostering and adopting out animals looking for their forever home. Earth Angels come in many forms with many different missions, though each one involves selfless service and compassion. Earth Angels usually feel that they are here on this Earth for a purpose, that they have an important job to do. They tend to be sensitive, especially to harsh noise, crowded places, and can't tolerate violence or negativity.  There are many types of Earth...

The Goddess of Starting Over

This Goddess carries no name.....for now, because for now she is in a self induced dormancy. She has laid down all of the extra baggage that she has been carrying around, all that luggage that has been weighing on her. Like washing her face before bedtime, she has cleansed herself for this trans formative  period. On the outside she appears quiet and neutral almost barren, like a blank canvas.  On the inside, OH on the inside,  there is a swirl of activity. She has planted her seeds, made her wishes, put her intentions out to the Universe, done her internal personal work, and soon the very delicate flower buds will begin to emerge. She is Starting Over. This time is for Her, time to Heal, time to be Selfish, time to simply and beautifully Be. She is rebuilding her self, piece by piece, taking all that she has learned and now putting all those pieces together that create her magnificent Spirit. She is seizing this new Season as her Own. Those days of...

The Goddess of the Four Directions - 30 Goddesses in 30 Days Series

She carries with her the Wisdom of the Four Directions. Each direction has its dedicated space on the spiritual journey, and its own element that helps to fuel it. Honoring the four directions allows to not only be in balance with the Earth, but to be in balance within ourselves.  The East (air element) is symbolic for New Beginnings. It is here where the sun rises, our projects are in their birthing stages, and transformations are in their infancy stages. The South (fire element) is a stage of action. It is being in the "present moment", and living in the present moment. Here you are living life passionately and creating the things that you want. The West (water element) is symbolic of emotional healing. When we are here, we spend dedicated contemplation on "who we are". We let go of the things that no longer serve us, and try to surround ourselves with the things that nurture our souls.  The North (earth element) is for clarity and truth. The grou...
