Resistance - Day Four of 30 Warrior Women in 30 Days

There is something surreal about moving through your day, and knowing at the same time you are watching history take place. That is how yesterday, January 21st, 2017 was for me. To have spent so much of my adult life as an artist, focused on creating Art that empowers and inspires Women....to so often portray that the world is waiting for the Women to Rise....left me feeling validated and complete while watching the Women's March on Saturday. I don't even know that I can put into words the feeling of awe as I watched over a million women around the world take to the streets and use their Voice.  My heart was overflowing with Love and Hope. I was so proud of each and every one of them, for showing up, for marching, for speaking, for Being.  They played it Live on the television, showing the marches in Washington and around the world. I pulled up live feeds on my phone, listening to the speakers and being inspired. In the midst of the history making, I pulled out my waterco...

Water Warrior - Day Three of 30 Warrior Women in 30 Days

She is a dedicated Water Warrior who has committed to watching over and protecting the sacred waters of this Earth. She understands the delicate balance of the ecosystem, and how vulnerable our water sources are within our often destructive ways of living.  She does not take the Water for granted, for she sees how many are suffering already without its blessings. You can find her all over the world, defending sacred water from being poisoned, knowing that she is protecting this Life Source that is the blood of our Earth - it is a part of Her - a part of You - a part of every living thing. It flows through us all and to destroy it, is to destroy ourselves.  "Water Warrior" can be found in my Etsy shop here Day Three - Water Warrior - 30 Warrior Women in 30 Days

The Spiritual Warrior - When the Fear gets Bigger, the Prayers get Stronger

When the Fear gets Bigger, the Prayers get Stronger.  My brain recognizes the fears, but my Spirit will not allow them to control me.  I will be aware. I will observe the situation. And I will proceed, holding confidently to my prayers and beliefs, with my highest good in mind.  I will proceed, keeping my eyes on the Big Picture and with grace and truth in my arsenal.  I will proceed with a dedicated heart, toward realizing my dreams and purpose. I am a Spiritual Warrior.  I am a Warrior. I Am. I May Bend, but I Will Not Break

I have recently been drawn to create a body of work that focuses on Strength. With the changes that have been happening in our communities and our political sphere, there has been a significant rise in bullying, intolerance, hate, and fear.  This energy, which once felt like an acute event, now feels like a chronic current continually and quietly flowing underneath everything. Its presence has left me often feeling consumed with anxiety, along with those around me. And so, I decided to try and work through those feelings with my Art and create this body of work. I will be creating it, in one medium or another, every day. It is  "30 Warrior Women in 30 Days". Each piece will have a "writing" attached to it, portraying the feelings or thought process associated.  Day One: "I May Bend, but I will not Break" "I may Bend, but I will not Break.  Those winds of change, unexpected forces that push me up against the side of the mountain, t...
