The Call to Women to Heal - Visionary Art by Jeanne Fry

Women are being called, called to Rise and Step back in, in order to bring Healing to the world. For far too long women have been oppressed and treated “less than”, unequally and unfairly, placed inside a box of restrictions with a “dumbing down” of their capabilities. While the world has been controlled by greed and power, women have been inundated with the distraction that we are weak and broken emotional creatures. We have been filled on a daily basis, being taught that we are not good enough, and that we need to look a certain way in order to be acceptable “prizes”. Along the way many of us have forgotten who we are as strong empowered beings capable of creating life and healing our surroundings.  Our world is going through a period of intense vulnerability. Since the crumbling of the economy a few years ago, that shook people to their very core, humanity has been operating in fear mode. With the loss of money, homes and jobs, people have been living with a lessene...

Minerva the Goddess of the Arts and Creative Passion

Minerva is the Roman Goddess of Wisdom, the Arts, and Trade; making her a wonderful Goddess to look to for guidance by virtually any creative person who desires to make a living from their talents.  Her wild and fiery hair is symbolic of that Creative Passion  that fuels your drive to create, that keeps you up at night honing your craft, and the perpetual thoughts of how you can continue elevating your talent. Her wisdom lends perfectly to the heightened creative by  fostering a diligent work ethic and responsible choices on turning the creative dream into a career.  While many people don't realize the tremendous work that is involved in being a full time artist, Minerva can be your  Daily Inspiration that "You Can Do This". Minerva is #15 in my series "30 Goddess in 30 Days".  She is available in my Etsy shop here Goddess Minerva Watercolor Painting on Etsy

The Goddess of Starting Over

This Goddess carries no name.....for now, because for now she is in a self induced dormancy. She has laid down all of the extra baggage that she has been carrying around, all that luggage that has been weighing on her. Like washing her face before bedtime, she has cleansed herself for this trans formative  period. On the outside she appears quiet and neutral almost barren, like a blank canvas.  On the inside, OH on the inside,  there is a swirl of activity. She has planted her seeds, made her wishes, put her intentions out to the Universe, done her internal personal work, and soon the very delicate flower buds will begin to emerge. She is Starting Over. This time is for Her, time to Heal, time to be Selfish, time to simply and beautifully Be. She is rebuilding her self, piece by piece, taking all that she has learned and now putting all those pieces together that create her magnificent Spirit. She is seizing this new Season as her Own. Those days of...

The Survivor Goddess - She who Carries Phoenix Medicine

We ALL have a Story, filled with ups and downs, trials and tribulations, joys and accomplishments. I myself believe that it is possible to re-write our story, in essence I think that do-overs can happen. It doesn't erase the previous chapters, but allows us to grow toward loftier heights as well as deeper in the soul.  These beliefs are what led me to the creation of the "Survivor Goddess" - She who Carries Phoenix Medicine. She is the 11th Goddess in my watercolor painting series "30 Goddesses in 30 Days". I love that she emerged as number 11, such a meaningful number in numerology. [The Number 11 is a Master Number, symbolic of New Beginnings. It is one of a pure and intuitive heart. Often we can go through periods of time when the number 11 presents itself to us seemingly everywhere, signaling to me that our guardians are watching over us, sending us messages, and confirming our path.] Here, the Survivor Goddess, has just realized her journey by c...

Aurora The Goddess of Dawn - Number 9 of 30 Goddesses in 30 Days

I am a woman who likes the "in between", the moments of Transition, or the grey areas. I have always been intrigued by the bridge between earth and sky, and the morning and evening twilight. These moments to me are the magic time, the times when anything is possible, when things are up for interpretation, and when we can change the course of things. And so,  I feel  this is when we are most connected with our own intuitive senses and need to trust in ourselves as we walk the path. These thoughts are what inspired my 9th Goddess painting in the Goddess series, Aurora  Goddess of the Dawn. Aurora represents the Dawn, the beginning of the Morning Twilight. For me, this is the bridge between day and night, when the Sun is thinking of making its appearance yet the moon and stars are still at the party. All of the elements of day and night are present. Hopeful wishes of what the day has to bring creep into the mind, while we are still wrapped in the cloak of the night'...

The Goddess of Mardi Gras and Celebration - Number 4 of 30 Goddesses in 30 Days Series

I have a deep love and affection for the Venetian Carnival (Carnevale di Venezia), maybe its the culture or the concept but more than that its the pure Art in its expression. The Masks have always inspired me, their elaborate beauty and symbolism. I appreciate them as an art form and their symbolism intrigues me asking "When wearing the Mask is the True person revealing themselves?"  "Are they able to allow themselves to express their inner most secrets?" This painting, "The Goddess of Mardi Gras and Celebration", is my portrayal of the Spirit of Mardi Gras, her deep down spirit emanating for all to see. With flow and movement, you can imagine the dance and the whimsy at the masquerade.  She is #4 in my series of "30 Goddesses in 30 Days". She was painted on 140 lb. Strathmore Watercolor Paper with Peerless Transparent Watercolors, Liquid Pearls, and Metallic Pigment.  She is available in my Etsy shop here Goddess of Mardi Gra...

Gaia - Number 2 in Series of 30 Goddesses in 30 Days

In the wee hours of the morning, while the Moon still reigned the sky, I began on my second Goddess painting for my self challenge. No matter how I try to change my schedule around for creating, I still find myself more inspired at night and so I follow my intuition. (You can read more about this self challenge I am partaking here http://jeannefryart.blogspot.com/2015/01/30-goddesses-in-30-days-artistic.html    ) While my fur babies lay sleeping nearby I spread out my Peerless Transparent Watercolors and began. I knew immediately that Gaia was going to come to the surface this evening. This Greek Goddess, sometimes referred to as the Great Mother, is the Divine that sees over the Earth and its life force.  Her concept came quickly, leading me to give her a skin tone that resembled an earthy landscape and lips like the sea. A small sparrow sits on her shoulder, in reverence of her spirit. I used colors that represented the Earth and the Sea, giving her a wa...
