She wasn't born a Warrior, but she is a Warrior today. It isn't easy for her. It isn't convenient a lot of the time. As a matter of fact, there are many days when she thinks her life would be easier if she wasn't. She is not even sure how much of a choice it was for her, for it seemed to be a "must". Her heart was filled with so much sadness, seeing the injustices that were happening in the world, that soon that sadness felt as if it would drown her if she didn't do something. She decided that she needed to transform that strong sad energy, into an energy that could be diligent and fierce - focused on changing those things that were pulling at her heart. She decided that her pain could be her passion. Not everyone can be a Warrior, and that's okay, we all have a different path.  But for some, there is no other choice other than to be a Warrior....it's in their blood...it's in their heart...it's in their soul. There is something surreal about moving through your day, and knowing at the same time you are watching history take place. That is how yesterday, January 21st, 2017 was for me. To have spent so much of my adult life as an artist, focused on creating Art that empowers and inspires Women....to so often portray that the world is waiting for the Women to Rise....left me feeling validated and complete while watching the Women's March on Saturday. I don't even know that I can put into words the feeling of awe as I watched over a million women around the world take to the streets and use their Voice.  My heart was overflowing with Love and Hope. I was so proud of each and every one of them, for showing up, for marching, for speaking, for Being.  They played it Live on the television, showing the marches in Washington and around the world. I pulled up live feeds on my phone, listening to the speakers and being inspired. In the midst of the history making, I pulled out my waterco...

It was time for Change, time for an utterly complete transformation. When she found herself walking through her days feeling like a foreigner in a strange distant land, she knew that somehow her life had been derailed into something that was unrecognizable....something that was not hers. Somewhere along the way she had relinquished her power to the manipulations of those who never had her highest good in mind.  Feeling broken she retreated quietly into the deepest past of her self, seeking respite and answers. She had lost everything and in retrospect realized that it was necessary, for this transformation required her to be in a most raw and authentic state. It was time to recreate her life into the magical journey it was meant to be. This Goddess carries no name.....for now, because for now she is in a self induced dormancy. She has laid down all of the extra baggage that she has been carrying around, all that luggage that has been weighing on her. Like washing her face before bedtime, she has cleansed herself for this trans formative  period. On the outside she appears quiet and neutral almost barren, like a blank canvas.  On the inside, OH on the inside,  there is a swirl of activity. She has planted her seeds, made her wishes, put her intentions out to the Universe, done her internal personal work, and soon the very delicate flower buds will begin to emerge. She is Starting Over. This time is for Her, time to Heal, time to be Selfish, time to simply and beautifully Be. She is rebuilding her self, piece by piece, taking all that she has learned and now putting all those pieces together that create her magnificent Spirit. She is seizing this new Season as her Own. This new painting, "The Blessing of a Women's Circle", was created in a moment of my gratefulness. I always appreciate my chosen "sisters" in life, but this past week especially I have felt an overwhelming love for the energy they bring to my life. Each one was met at special points in my Journey and quickly that bond was formed. Their presence in my life is probably one of the greatest gifts ever to receive, knowing that you are surrounded by unconditional love and support.  We are living in challenging times. Our status as women and our rights are continually in a vulnerable state while we become fodder in political power and control battles. The media bombards us with underlying tones of never being enough, to strive for a sense of impossible perfection, and fosters a lowering of self esteem and competitiveness among us.
