Believe as the Trees Do - Spiritual Art with the Tree of Life

When you think that there is no where left to go, no sure footing to take your next step, this would be the time to reach deep into your soul and come face to face with your Fears. Fear creates an illusion; it’s a trickster of sorts. It can create a thick fog that hides solutions, whispers mantras of impossibility in your ear, and blocks you from manifesting your wants and needs. Your fears can keep you stuck in situations, feeding you one hundred and one excuses not to move forward. This is the time to take the power away from Fear and direct the power to the love in your Heart…the love for You.

Now is when you love yourself more than the fears that are holding you back.

Now is when you love yourself enough to make a new set of rules that protect and nurture your spirit by putting yourself first.

Now is when you love yourself so deeply that you won’t accept anything but the very best for your soul.

Now is when you love yourself enough to pull the veil of illusion away and see the opportunities in front of you, and are able to look at them with excitement and desire.

Now is when you love yourself more than any other could.

Now is when you Believe in You again, and you can run like the wind.

This is an Original Contemporary Folk Art Painting titled “Believe”, created to help dispel fears and encourage one to have faith in themselves. The painting was done with blended shades of sea foam blue accented with a warm white as the background. A cliff protrudes through the sky with a large Tree at its end. The tree is full of vibrant life, exhibited by its multi-colored spirals. Its roots have overcome its fears, and are growing outward into the sky, delicate yet strong. The word “Believe” is painted into its root system. Two more words are painting amongst the tree limbs, “Trust” and “Faith”.

The painting was done in acrylics on an 11x14 inch canvas. It was signed on the front, signed and titled on the back, and was sealed with a satin finish to protect and enhance. Gallery wire was installed on the back for easy in hanging.

Medeina Goddess of the Forest - Number 6 of the 30 Goddesses in 30 Days Series

I have been enchanted with the growing process of the "30 Goddesses in 30 Days" challenge that I have given myself. In a very short period of time the creation of a Goddess painting a day has become a blended part of my day as much as having my tea and eggs for breakfast. Part of the passion is the subject matter of the Goddesses. The other part of the passion is the growth I'm receiving working with the Peerless Transparent Watercolors and the styles involved. Today I finished Number 6 in the series, being "Medeina". Medeina is a Lithuanian Goddess of the Forests. She watches over the trees and the animals who lived in those magical woodlands. Some Forest Goddesses assist hunters, although Medeina's focus is not for helping the hunters but is for protecting the forest and its animal kingdom. My depiction of her brings her out in a natural world sense, wearing a mask of leaves so she can walk amongst and be a part of that which she watches over...

My entire adult life has been spent seeking, sharing, and Being Peace. I strive to surround myself with people who live their lives in a peaceful way, and try to inspire those who struggle to obtain it. When I was young, I was blessed to grow up in an area of Upstate NY that was rich in cultural diversity. "Normal" to me was being immersed in that melting pot that was defined by so very many cultures and religions. My memories are filled with weekend events - celebrations, dinners, and dances held at different cultural community centers and churches. Everyone was welcome, and everyone would partake. This place had been a destination for many immigrants years back due to the opportunities for work. I remember my grandparents telling me about the old shoe and cigar factories, which were popular places for jobs. As the area grew, more and more industry came. The Goddess of Autumn - Number 8 in the 30 Goddesses in 30 Days Series

My natural instincts guided me to the creation of the Goddess who represents my favorite time of year, Autumn. This magical space in time is symbolic to me of Earthiness with a Splash of color - it is the time when the air has a little nip to it and we bring out our sweaters and scarves, large harvests are gathered from the Earth, and the leaves begin to turn those brilliant colors reminiscent of paint on a palette. In Greek mythology the seasons are represented by a triad of deities called a Horae. The "withering" time of Autumn and Winter are watched over by "Carpo". Carpo was specifically in charge of the ripening of the harvest and Autumn, and was joined by "Thallo" and "Auxo" who represented Spring and Summer. The Horae was responsible for time and the seasons, so deeply connected to the rhythms of life of all beings. My 8th painting is of Carpo.
